cross

CrossTies Christian Ministries is a community-based, not-for-profit charitable organization that calls an old 1800's renovated cattle barn, that is still under construction, its home. Our prayer is that this barn and grounds be used as an instrument to tie together God and people from all walks of life. CrossTies is here to uplift God and encourage churches, families and communities. There is neither Jew nor Greek, bond nor free, male nor female, for we are all one in Jesus Christ. (Gal. 3:28)

National Quartet Convention in Louisville, KY

CrossTies is putting together something special in lieu of our September, 2008 Gospel Sing. It seems that it's always hard to find good groups to come to The Barn in September because of the National Quartet Convention that takes place every year on that weekend. This year, instead of trying to get some talent to come to The Barn, we plan to take "The Barn" to where the talent is!

We're going to sponsor a Charter Bus Tour to go to the NQC in Louisville, Kentucky on September 12 - 14, 2008. We will be providing bus transportation to Louisville along with hotel rooms, NQC tickets, and some light meals, all for a reasonable per-person price. The prices are as follows: $371 for 1 person; $270 per person for 2 people; $236 per person for 3 people; $219 per person for 4 people. Prices reflect groups of up to four staying in a single hotel room. If you are interested, one-half of the total cost must be received by CrossTies by May 30, 2008. The balance is due July 7.

Stay tuned if you're interested, as more information will be forthcoming as we receive it. If you'd like a small flyer, we have a download of four flyers that can be cut apart, and extras given to friends and family. The CrossTies NQC Flyer is here.

Upcoming Events!

On July 5th Hickory Holler Campground will be having a Pot Luck Supper for the Campers at The Barn. Dinner starts at 6:00 p.m. IL time, 7:00 p.m. IN time.

On July 19th Higher Ground will be performing at The Barn beginning at 6:00 p.m. IL time, 7:00 p.m. IN time. Please note the time change from years past! The Quartet from Trilla, Illinois, a perennial feature, consists of Jim Wallace singing lead, Steve Wheeler singing tenor, Brad Groves singing bass, and Richard Richter singing baritone and playing keyboard.

Immediately preceeding the Sing we will be serving concessions. The normal fare will be available again this year, as we had a good response to our menu last summer which included burgers, chili dogs, polish sausages, sides, and plenty of pie and ice cream. Come hungry for some good food and a good time, and you'll definitely leave satisfied.

Teen Nights started back up on May 16, 2008 and will continue as usual until the school year starts again. Come one, come all, and be prepared for an evening of fun, games, fellowship and devotion.
